Ghost Don Know Nuthin Bout Ghostin Around!

Two houses ago I lived with a ghost. Maybe two.
My sister saw a sailor looking guy at the foot of her bed once when she was visiting. He never came to visit me.

The one who visited me was a young girl.

She was dressed in antebellum, sort of plain, almost peasant clothing.
Long dress.
Aprons.
Bonnet.

She did not scare me ever. She never conveyed any message to me.

I never got to know why she was there.

She visited me about three or four times during the almost 20 years we lived in that house.

The first time I woke up to see her gliding down the hallway and into the bedroom. She just stood there and looked at me. I sat up. She went back down the hall. Backwards.

Her next two visits were similar.

I talked about her to a few select people and they asked me questions about her so I decided to be very alert the next time she came, if she did.

The next visit, she was standing beside my bed. She must have awakened me somehow because I was suddenly completely awake.
I looked her over carefully. I realized that I could not see the things on the wall behind her. I couldn’t see through her,
I asked her what she wanted or needed. She didn’t say anything, but somehow I knew that . She was calm and happy. She didn’t smile or have any other facial expression. I couldn’t tell you what she looked like.

We moved to a different house. She didn’t follow us. There were no ghosts living in the new house, darn it.
We lived there for 18 years.

This house? Should have a ghost or two, but I haven’t seen her-him.

I am not crazy. (Some might dispute this)
Not stupid.
Hey, I have a master’s degree!

  1. Wow, I totally believe in ghosts.

I'd probably scream if I saw one though. I'm very jumpy.

  2. Reminds me of seeing my ghost at Burnside, which I will post soon. I also could not see through her, and I was surprised by that. Thank you for stopping by, I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  3. Thanks for letting me know about your blog! I saw my ghost the same way, I woke up and he was standing at the window, but I wasn't scared at all. My son and sister also saw the ghost of a young boy, in the same room, during the night. Love your blog!

  5. Wow! I go from repurposing junk to ghosts. I stopped by to thank you for visiting jumkblossoms and get caught up in your blog about ghosts. I have to tell you my experience. It was a shadow person. I could see through him as he walked by the door. I thought it was my ex's shadow but he was upstairs. Interesting, but not scarey. I have other stories but not enough time to tell them. Nothing big, just long. lol. Pat.

  7. I completely believe you! I've had many encounters(both good, bad and quite scary) over the past two or so years once I opened my mind to everything-Actually, that was my first encounter. the Lady in White as I called her was a messenger sent to tell me to not be scared to open myself to this life. Unfortunately since I've been sick I've shut off that part of me, but I hope when I get stronger to open it up again :)

  8. This is very intersting, Lynne. I do believe in ghosts but I am afraid of them and I am hoping I never get to see them. You are brave...Christine

  9. And did she visit you a lot around October 31st? I believe in ghosts selectively. I do think spirits haunt our waking hours...

  11. My grandmother use to say the dead can't hurt you, it's the living that can. Nevertheless, I don't want to see dead people. You're a lot tougher than me Lynn. Why do they wait until dark to come around? I enjoyed your story. I am a believer and you are as sane as they come.
